I just received a 12" University tri speaker from eBay. The cone has a 2" tear that extends to and along the pleated/gummed edge for another 4 inches or so. Is there any adhesive that can be used to repair it? I only spent $40 for the speaker (including shipping) but I hate to discard it.

    Thanks!

    John.

Thank you kindly for the link. After much checking around, I tried something called Automotive Adhesive and Sealant (Amazing Goop) by the makers of Shoe Goo. It dries to a rubberlike material that supposedly remains flexible over time. Someone also suggested an automotive produce called "gorilla snot" that's used to adhere weather stripping. Well, the stuff I used would certainly pass for GS based on its consistency.

After 72 hr, I'll test out the unmounted speaker and listen for buzzes, etc.

    John
